Stuttgarter Wasen

31. Oktober 2007

The Stuttgarter Wasen is similar to the Oktoberfest in Munich, but it takes place twice a year! The entire Totems team and the designers of Code2 went on an unforgettable (beer) journey…

Once upon a time there was a lonesome table. A rather boring pal was sitting next to us…

After we kicked this guy off our table, we had to eat. “Grundlage schaffen” says the German in order to prevent getting shitfaced within seconds. Meaning: EAT as much as you can!

The mood is getting there. But where are the “put your hands in the air” songs?

See Gongo dancing like a star! This guy went crazy… and this is why we love him!

A moment to remember: Claudia and Mathilde singing together. What? I can’t remebmer.

See singing and dacing fantastic Lotte with her Michael. She was one of the stars that night!

Last but not least: the ulimate checker Frank with his “NightRider Michael Knight Blockbuster sunglasses”.
What a night with lots of headaches the day after.

Pain in the ass

25. Oktober 2007

See 6”5′ tall Chris squeezed in a Formula 1 racing car. In German you would say: “Der sitzt da, wie’n Affe auf’m Schleifstein!” These cars are definetly not made for tall people…

Thousands of shoes

14. Oktober 2007

For 9 years already Steffi has been working one week in october year by year at the Pfennigbasar in Stuttgart. Her moments of social work and charity. The Pfennigbasar has a 39-year-old history and is organised by the German-American Womens Club of Stuttgart. 420 helpers make it possible to sell approximately 25 truck loads of donated goods in 2,5 days. This year shoe-boss Steffi and her charming international crew sold about 3.000 pairs of shoes. Friday, during the dismanteling of the basar, the total sum was announced: 87.000 euros! This will be going to a whole lot of different social institutions and cases in the Stuttgart region. With a big smile this helped to get over a week of hard work. (more pics to come)

PechaKucha Night (find Melle!)

12. Oktober 2007

Melle and Lars represented Totems at the popular PechaKucha Night. The Japanese term ´Pecha Kucha´ roughly translates as chit-chat or noisy chatter. As a potent crossbreed between an elevator pitch and a slide show Pecha Kucha Night presents 12 participants who show 20 slides for twenty seconds each. No more boring lectures, painful seminars or tiring presentations. And Lars with the Mic in his hand – he always rocks te crowd!!

Chinese invasion at Totems Amsterdam

12. Oktober 2007

Yes we are glad to welcome them at Totems: our own Chinese sisters (not for real) – Lin Nan and Bet Ty. They work like tigers and are real dangerous!

(Lin Nan) A really early morning photo from Robin. He told us that we look most beautiful at morning!!!!

(Bet Ty) One day after I finished my master thesis I started working for Totems. I have studied Cultural Studies at the University of Amsterdam and before that Museology (speciality in (museum) exhibition design). The studies gave me the knowledge about cultures and museums. In my work I can combine my two studies: (thinking about) design ;-) and doing research.
